A drunken man was arrested in Red Level on Wednesday evening after driving more than six miles by tractor to purchase beer at the Dollar General.
Chief Deputy David Anderson said that Bobby L. Price, 37, of Grange Forge Road had apparently driven a tractor from his residence to the local Dollar General.
The store clerk called dispatch and reported that she had refused to sell Price the beer while he was intoxicated, and reported that Price had fallen on the sidewalk coming into the store.
Price was transported to the county jail, and is being held on a $500 bond for public intoxication.
Anderson said that the owner of the tractor had loaned it to Price for farm work, that he had been contacted and notified that his tractor had been impounded.
